Der Tempel / The Temple

Der Tempel

Aus dem Gewimmel und Lärm der Stadt,
Zieht’s mich den Berg hinauf,
Wo man den weiten Blick noch hat,
Auf des Lebens Lauf.

Der Lärm schallt bis hier oben hin,
Wie muß es unten sein?
Doch hört man noch genauer hin,
Wird all das Rauschen klein.

Im Busch hier eine Grille zirpt,
Die Blätter dort im Wind,
Es tut so gut weit weg zu sein,
Vom Ort wo Menschen sind.

The Temple

From the bustle and noise of the city,
I’m drawn up to the mountain,
Where you still have the wide view,
On the life run.

The noise is still up here,
How must it be down?
But you can hear more closely,
Will all the noise become small.

Chirping a cricket in the bush,
The leaves are there in the wind,
It feels so good to be far away
From the place where people are.
